Meet Dr. Miller
I believe people can change for the better at a deep level. I’m convinced that good clinical counseling is powerful when the clinician and client work diligently together. When clinical counseling is integrated with a Biblical worldview, it can transform a person’s life.
Personally, I prefer to be around authentic people that value integrity, peace, and being honest with others and themselves. When I’m not teaching at Liberty or counseling, I enjoy working outdoors, hunting, fishing, cooking, and spending time with family, especially my wife and grandchildren.
My Therapy Style
For individuals: I consider it a privilege to help people feel better and have a more meaningful life. It is vital to view people with empathy and with the knowledge they have a great capacity to change.
When people change how they think about themselves, their environment, and the people in their environment, their emotional health and relationships are impacted positively.
For couples: I offer a caring approach that is straightforward at the same time. A marriage or partnership only gets better when both individuals in the relationship are aware of their need to change and commit to emotionally helpful change. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as a primary mode of marriage counseling.
